UNCA Programs and Initiatives
ARAMARK Building Community Initiative
UNCA and the Alliance for Children and Families have developed a partnership with ARAMARK to support and celebrate community centers through the ARAMARK Building Community program. This partnership includes a mini-grant program, providing the opportunity for UNCA and Alliance member agencies to work with local ARAMARK employees in the areas of workforce development, health and wellness and basic human services. For more information on mini-grants, please contact the UNCA office directly at info@unca.org.
The ARAMARK Building Community Innovation Awards were launched in 2011 to recognize and celebrate innovative programming by community centers in the UNCA and Alliance networks. Learn more about the inaugural winners in UNCA's news story, or visit the awards website.

Civic Engagement Initiative
The Civic Engagement Program of UNCA and the Alliance for Children & Families encourages and supports members to work for social changes that improve the lives and bolster the chances of success for vulnerable children and families. The Alliance encourages members to engage boards, volunteers, clients, and residents in mission-based advocacy and civic engagement efforts. The Johns Hopkins Listening Post Project
The Johns Hopkins Listening Post Project is monitoring in a systematic and timely way what is happening to nonprofit organizations in the U.S. To do so, we have partnered with nonprofit umbrella organizations in several major nonprofit fields and with over 1,000 local nonprofit organizations that have agreed to serve as our “eyes and ears” on critical nonprofit challenges and promising responses organizations are making to them. Please visit The Johns Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies website for more details or contact the UNCA office directly to sign up.
